Angled Brise Soleil
NLC removed the existing high level non effective solar shading from Le Rocquier Secondary School in Jersey and replaced it with specialist brise soleil. The brise soleil was angled downwards casting a greater shadow which covered more of the windows than the previous system. To achieve this level of shading the design team had to create irregular shaped aluminium side frames that carried the blades in a downward slope towards the ground while maintaining even blade spacing and also the correct blade angle. NLC also introduced 10mm thick alu. support plates that bolted onto the existing bracket fins, they were designed to drop each panel closer to the top of the window to further enhance the shading performance.
